I have all sorts of blogkeeping items I want to write about but I decided to break it into parts to make the task more possible. I added a few blogs to my blog roll and moved some to a grouping entitled Outside the Homeschool where I included Not Quite Crunchy Mom and No Impact Man. Both blogs make me think about the choices I am making for my children and for the environment. Crunchy Mom also writes about Waldorf education.
I revisited some of my Learning Resource Links. Homeschool Share is better than ever and I still enjoy Preschool Express. I added a new photo of Citcat and me. The new photo was taken back in January when I am sure I might have had a full night's rest. I hope to have a photo of both kids and me at some point in the future. Si's eczema is improving and I think I just may have figured out the trigger but I will wait to claim victory until I am certain. He still looks miserable in all the photos that I have taken.
I changed the title of what I am reading from "In the Book Basket" (now holding home school materials) to "On the Nightstand." I should really call it "Will I ever read again?" We are still trying to figure out how to parent Si. He is so needy and will not allow me out of his sight. He wants to be carried around all the time. He is teething and has an outer ear infection. Did you know a child can have eczema inside the ear canal? It takes at least an hour to calm him into sleep and then he wakes routinely at 1am and then wakes for the day between 4:30 to 5:30am. I have come to accept 5:30 as an ideal time because it is oh so much better than 4am. He takes short unreliable naps. So my blog time has been cut quite short lately. I could write a woe is me post everyday but I will spare you.
This week I plan to return many emails, read your blogs, write comments and at least a couple posts. I am so unhappy that I've let the blog go this past week. I want to write about my home preschool objectives for the next 4 or 5 months. I want to write about several of the books on the book sidebar. I think most of them are fantastic and worth mentioning. I have also been spending my time trying to figure out which cloth diapers to purchase. I've narrowed my decision to All-in-Ones and have found a WAHM maker that I like. I hope to place an order and start using cloth diapers very soon. My to-do list is full of routine and boring tasks like clean the scuff mark off the laundry room door. Oh the fun!
Edited to add: This morning has been just as I imagined life with two kids, busy but pleasant . No one is crying and both are playing nicely while I do a bit of cooking, cleaning, laundry and even a bit of computer time. Ahhhhhh.......
