Where I've been...
Five weeks ago my husband was out of town for a week.
Four weeks ago before my dh was to arrive home, my Grandmother passed away (it was not unexpected). I then traveled across country by plane with two young children (suddenly his week away didn't seem half as bad).
I spent five days with my family. Cate and Si were actually pretty good because they were constantly entertained. Cate said on the plane trip "now there are cousins to play with." I didn't realize it at first but she later told me that it was from Little House in the Big Woods. You have to love a four year old that can quote from Little House. Cate loves her cousins and misses them very much.
Three weeks ago everyone came down with colds from the traveling and lack of schedule. So we spent the week recovering from the trip and being sick.
Then I turned 41. I felt every bit of it at the time.
Two weeks ago we had a fairly normal week. My blog turned 2!
And then I had all four wisdom teeth removed. I thought all had gone well but the pain became more and more unbearable all through last week. In a follow up appointment, I discovered that I have dry socket in one of the openings. The oral surgeon said that one patient described it as worst than having been shot in Vietnam. I'm not so sure about that but the pain is terrible. I'm on an all Frosty diet at the moment. Whatever I eat seems to go straight to the sore spot no matter how hard I try. But at least my clothes fit me a little better. :)
And to top off this fabulous five weeks of unproductive living, my husband leaves Thursday for a seven day trip. That's right seven nights without any help. Luckily, I just signed up with a sitter service.
Despite it all, we have maintained a fairly regular homeschooling schedule and I have notes to prove it. ;)
Happy First Day of Autumn to everyone!
